Accountability Lab Zimbabwe (ALZ) is looking for two dynamic leaders with a passion for governance and development to join our team!

What is the Accountability Fellowship?

The ALZ Accountability Fellowship is a six-month program for early career professionals that gives a career boost to young individuals with an interest in advancing open government, participation, and accountability in their communities. It is an opportunity for creative and innovative young people with a passion for positive societal transformation to learn about governance and development from our work in Zimbabwe and throughout the trans-local network. The Fellowship Program provides professional development and networking opportunities for young accountability practitioners with leadership potential.

We are looking for individuals:

  1. With innovative ideas to promote accountability, open government, and participation in their communities. This could be young people running initiatives or start-ups to address accountability in their communities.
  2. With stellar academic records who require a stepping stone into the civic sector through experience in an organization working on accountability, open government, and participation.
  3. Working in the areas of civic agency, inclusion, climate justice and digital governance.

How does it work ?

Fellows will join Accountability Lab Zimbabwe’s Programs team,  participating in and contributing to project design, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Our projects include the  Accountability Incubator, Civic Action Teams, and Integrity Icon. Fellows will receive hands-on experience in programming, including the development of activity concept notes, organizing events, facilitation, report writing, etc. Each Fellow will also be paired with a professional mentor who will help them develop in their areas of interest. Fellows will also be part of the Accountability Lab’s trans-local network, gaining perspective on local problems through global experience.

The fellowship comes with a monthly stipend/allowance and access to training and conferences for professional growth.
